Free backgammon with no ads
No ads, no paywalls and no subscriptions. This is not a limited free tier: the whole game is free, and there is no account to create.
Play backgammon offline
Every game runs on your device, so you can play backgammon offline, on a plane, on the metro or anywhere without a connection. Challenge the computer at four difficulty levels (Easy, Medium, Hard and Master), or pass the phone to a friend for a two-player game on one device.
See which moves cost you the game
After each game, Move Review goes through the match and shows the moves that cost you, with the better move laid out side-by-side on the board. An optional real-time alert can also nudge you mid-game when a stronger move was on the table. It is a quiet way to improve your backgammon strategy.

Play a Simple Match or a Doubling Cube Match, as best-of-3, best-of-5 or first-to-N, with gammon and backgammon (mars) scoring. Live match scoring and a full game history keep track of your win streaks.

- Can I play backgammon offline?
- Yes. Games against the computer and two-player games on one device run entirely on your phone or tablet, so no internet connection is needed.
- Can I play backgammon against the computer?
- Yes, at four difficulty levels, Easy, Medium, Hard and Master. Master is the strongest the engine gets.
- Can I play online against other people?
- No. Backgammon Limitless is for playing the computer or a friend on the same device. There is no online multiplayer.
- Does it support the doubling cube?
- Yes. You can choose a Simple Match or a Doubling Cube Match, with gammon and backgammon (mars) scoring.
- Which devices does it run on?
- iPhone and iPad with iOS 15 or later, and Android phones and tablets.
- Are the dice fair, or does the computer cheat?
- The dice are fair. Your rolls and the computer's rolls come from the same random-number call, and the computer never sees a roll before it is thrown. The page about how the dice work includes a free dice test you can run on any backgammon app.
- Do I need an account?
- No. There is no sign-up, and the app does not collect any data from you.
